Cmdr. George H. Lindsey of Disabled American Veterans makes a generous donation

Michael Hanahan (at left) representing Meghan’s Foundation is presented a $500 donation by Cmdr. George H. Lindsey of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 17 of Doylestown.

Meghan’s Foundation reaches out to support war veterans experiencing physical and emotional wounds — symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) — by offering programs that provide complimentary healing modalities including yoga and meditation.

The organization honors the memory of Meghan Shortt Wilent, the 29-year-old wife of Senior Airman Thomas Wilent. Meghan died suddenly in 2011 of an undetected heart condition while her husband was serving in Iraq. She was Andrew’s twin sister, daughter of Solebury residents Maureen and Thom Shortt, a Vietnam War veteran. Meghan graduated from New Hope-Solebury High School in 2001.
