Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Training

This is a half-day training for yoga teachers, therapists, healthcare and other wellness practitioners, or anyone working with trauma survivors. If you are interested in learning about the foundations of trauma-sensitive yoga and practical ways in which you can make your yoga classes or professional practice more trauma informed and support your clients, this may be for you. At this time, the training is virtual.
The training covers:
- Trauma theory to understand the impact of trauma on the body and mind.
- Elements of trauma-sensitive care (including yoga) and how to incorporate them into your practice/work.
- A full trauma-sensitive yoga practice to experience it for yourself and learn how movement and language may be included in your trauma-sensitive care work
- Reflection time and discussion

Simona has been a yoga teacher for Meghan’s Foundation since 2019. She is a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), a yoga therapist in training, as well as a graduate of the 300-hr Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) program developed at the Trauma Center in Brookline, Massachusetts. TCTSY is an empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The TCTSY program earned inclusion in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) database in the United States. In addition to yoga, TCTSY has foundations in Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory, and Neuroscience.
